Anoushka Shankar, daughter and disciple of maestro Ravi Shankar, brings to Jorgensen “An infectiously heady blend of flamenco and classical Hindustani music.” - BBC Music. She combines sitar with tabla, bansuri flute, percussion, Spanish guitar and voice to create a powerful and mesmerizing collection of new pieces that show yet again an artist at the very top of her game. Anoushka’s first Deutsche Grammophon recording titled Traveller was released fall 2011, and Storrs is one of only 21 stops on her U.S. tour to promote this album.
And remember to leave a message on our Facebook Timeline (www.facebook.edu/JorgensenUConn) for a chance to win a signed copy of Anoushka’s new album!
